ThermoPhys Cloud

A cloud-based software for calculation of thermophysical properties, flow assurance, and safety assessment is currently under development. The first version will be available for testing in 2025.

The first version of ThermoPhys Cloud (TPCloud) will have the following features:

  • PVT and phase-equilibria: Thermodynamic properties of the gas-phase, possibly coexisting with a CO2-rich liquid-phase and a water-rich liquid phase can be calculated with the most accurate equation of state available. Several phase diagrams can be visualized.
  • Hydrate formation locus: The boundaries where hydrates form can be visualized. A calculator that states whether hydrates form or not at the specified conditions will be provided.
  • Dry ice: The boundaries where dry ice (solid CO2) form can be visualized. A calculator that states whether dry ice forms or not at the specified conditions will be provided.

ThermoPhys API

We will develop dedicated Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to software within computational fluid dynamics (CFD), software to simulate flow in pipelines, injection and reservoir models, process modelling tools, flow assurance software and other applications that are in need of thermophysical and flow assurance calculations.

We have a wide range of components, models and features available in our code base. Many years of testing has lead to robust phase equilibrium calculations. For applications where computational efficiency is key, we will incorporate tailored table-lookup algorithms.
