The foundation covers thermodynamic phase behavior, transport properties, and flow assurance phenomena, including regimes where solid formation, hydrates, and complex phase equilibria are critical for safe and reliable operation.

Models are selected and implemented based on published scientific literature, validated against experimental data, and applied within clearly defined ranges of validity.
